You Little Smoothie...

https://www.eatyourselfskinny.com/triple-berry-smoothie-bowl/ So my new craze at the minute is starting my day with a delicious smoothie bowl. Not only do these amazing breakfasts kick-start my day, but they are jam-packed with a variety of fruit, seeds and oats that excite my tastebuds. Now I'm not going to sit here and say that my smoothie bowls look as professional as some of the bowls that my girl crush, Alice Liveing, makes and instagrams every day but I'll be the first to tell you that they probably taste just as good!   Don't worry if you don't have a blender, you can get a really cheap and high-quality one from any major supermarket and on Amazon. Mine is a Breville Active Blender which was a bargain and its so quick and easy to use!  https://www.amazon.co.uk/Breville-VBL134-Active-Personal-Blender/dp/B0153FTFZM/ref=sr_1_1/258-6879093-2509823?ie=UTF8&qid=1532723459&sr=8-1&keywords=breville+active+pink   My typical smoothie bowl co...

Bad Days

Image
You know those days when nothing goes your way and you feel like there must be someone out there trying to mug you off? For some reason that happened to me yesterday. Things were snowballing at work and 5:30pm couldn't come quick enough. I felt knackered and proper down in the dumps. I got to the gym and my mood didn't improve. After a hard and long test week last week (in which I got PBs in most things, may I add haha) my body is still recovering and the WOD yesterday showed that. I have never been in the position before, that half way through, I have nothing more to give. I was exhausted and my body was aching. It made me realise that I need my sleep and I need my rest. Rest days are so important and even though you may be DYING to get to the gym, listen to your body. I did six sessions last week with only Sunday to recover and back on it on Monday. So no wonder my body was screaming at me to have a rest (with a brew and a biscuit). It also made...

What have I achieved this week?

This week has been hectic. After being run down from the flu last week and still having to compete at a local CrossFit partner WOD throwdown, my body has just about recovered. Despite this, I sniffled and coughed my way through the week, hitting PBs and completing a Regional event! Some things I can take from this week include beginning meditation, learning how to control my temper and finding the motivation when my brain and tummy is saying no! Training: This week I completed a WOD at my current snatch 1RM which proves two things. 1) 25kg is probably not my 1RM and 2) my snatches are better than I thought. I think what I struggle with the most with snatches is that because I am just about 5 ft 1, my brain is constantly telling me that I am not strong enough to lift that barbell from the floor and up over my head in one swift movement. The constant worry that I'm going to lose my balance and tipple over or I am going to drop the bar gets to me massively. It plays...
